Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech)
Friendswood Hospital ER | Friendswood, Texas
Friendswood Hospital ER is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Emergency Room Technician (ER Tech) to join our emergency care team.
The ER Tech works closely with physicians and nurses to provide hands-on patient care and support the day-to-day operations of the emergency department. The ideal candidate is comfortable in a fast-paced environment, communicates well with patients and staff, and is ready to assist wherever needed.
Responsibilities

- Assist nurses and physicians with patient care and emergency department procedures.
- Obtain and document vital signs.
- Perform EKGs as directed.
- Assist with phlebotomy and specimen collection as qualified.
- Prepare patients and treatment rooms for examinations and procedures.
- Assist with patient transport, positioning, and mobility.
- Stock and maintain patient rooms and clinical supplies.
- Clean and prepare equipment and treatment areas between patients.
- Respond promptly to the needs of patients and the clinical team.
- Observe patients and immediately report changes in condition to the appropriate nurse or physician.
- Follow infection-control, patient-safety, HIPAA, and facility policies.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and efficient emergency department.
- Provide courteous and compassionate care to patients and their families.
Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous emergency room, hospital, EMS, or other direct patient-care experience preferred.
- Current BLS certification required or must be obtained within the facility's required timeframe after hire.
- Experience performing EKGs and phlebotomy preferred.
- EMT, CNA, or other applicable healthcare certification preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and organized in a fast-paced emergency environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
